My name is Susan and the owner of Precious Paws Dog Grooming. I am a passionate dog lover and dogs have always been a massive part of my life, having several dogs myself over the years and the love they give is unconditional and today I still have several dogs in my life and always will have.

After working in the Oil & Gas Industry and completing a 4-year Honours Degree at Robert Gordon University in Business, I decided to study more in the Animal Care sector, where I completed a full-time course for one year on Animal Care at HNC level. While at college I did a business plan and I chose dog grooming and did all my research into the sector. However, at first when I completed college, I went back to work in the Oil & Gas Industry for a few years and I employed a dog walker for my own 4 dogs. I missed my dogs so much and after taking holidays to spend time with them was when I decided I wanted to spend everyday with dogs and work with them.

I started up Precious Paws Dog Walking services in 2014 and was highly successful in that business, which it is still today very successful and run by my son Ryan, who is also highly passionate about dogs. I then trained in 2016 to become a dog groomer, which originally was what my aim in life was and I went on to start up my grooming career and kept the name Precious Paws because I originally named the business after my own dogs because they are so precious to me.

I have done various other training and attended seminars to improve my grooming skills. I have trained with Master Groomer, Pammie Carmichael Hogg (Master Groomer in Asian Fusion) at her school in Doncaster. I also done some training with award winning groomer Kelly Gayler at KJG Dog Grooming Academy down in Devon, where I completed my OCN level 3 qualification whilst still working at my own salon in Aberdeen.
My aim is to maintain a high standard professional dog grooming services and I have all modern equipment in my salon including a top-quality hydro-bath system, which not only deep cleans the dog’s fur, it controls allergies, infections and skin diseases.
I enjoy what I do and take real pride in ensuring that each dog is treated as an individual and they enjoy their grooming experience. All my products are of high-quality brands and suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
